Latest letter from Mr Farley:
Mon 11th January 2021
As we start the second week of spring term, I’d like to thank you all for bearing with us whilst we, yet again re-arranged, school to support children and families for remote learning. Around 80 children are still in school each day. If you feel you need support or a place due to being a key worker or other circumstances, please get in touch. We can’t promise due to trying to limit numbers to reduce the spread of Covid, but we will always try and support the best we can.
Pupils entitled to Free School meals will have them delivered from week beginning Monday 11th January. If your circumstances have recently changed, you may not be on our list. If you think you are entitled to school meals and don’t receive anything on Monday, please call the school or send a DOJO on Tuesday.
From Monday 11th January the children are expected to take part in a MINIMUM of:
Reception 2-3hrs learning
Year 1&2 3hrs learning
Year 3-6 4hrs
Schools are asked by the government to monitor this daily and contact parents/carers who are not doing this work. We are then asked to report this. If you are struggling with data allowance or any other reason preventing access to online work, then please contact your class teacher.
The hours teachers will be available for teaching and learning queries are 8:30am - 4:30pm
The guidance around isolating with COVID symptoms & the required tests are the same, if you/your child have any of the symptoms, the whole family needs to isolate and take a test.
Again, thank you for supporting us to ensure your children are safe and have the best education possible under the current circumstances.
IF YOUR CHILD IS IN SCHOOL:
If you, your child or another member of your household is showing any symptoms of COVID19 please follow government guidelines, self isolate and call 119 or visit www.gov.uk/coronavirus and book a COVID19 test.
If self isolating please contact school to arrange work to be sent home (physically or remotely).
If your child is unwell with other illness please follow the usual protocols of keeping your child off for 48 hours after the last symptom
Potential closure of bubbles / school
We are working hard with our hygiene protocols to try to prevent any positive cases of COVID19 arising in school and ask all of our families to keep to government guidelines outside of school to help to keep the virus at bay. Year groups are working, eating and playing in 'bubbles' to help prevent them from coming into contact with too many people and to allow us to limited the number of people that potentially have to self isolate should we have a positive case.
Should a member of the school community test positive we will contact the Public Health Department for advice. This could result in a small group, class, year group or wider group of children being asked to self isolate. It is important that if asked this should be followed strictly (under current advice the rest of the family does not need to isolate unless someone in your household tests positive).
